History of Currency: Zimbo of the Kwanza
According to historical records, long before the colonial era was in use in Angola necklaces made of slices of snail shells and other shells, drilled in the center andstrung on strands of textile fibers as a means of exchange. However, despite the variety of shells, was the Zimbo, winkle little gray, one of the most important and first exchange of instruments constituting functionally authenticlocal currency.
